2009 School Board Elections
NOTICE
Nominating petitions forms for the April 7, 2009 school board election in the Midland School District will be available on October 22, 2008. Forms may be picked up in the office of the board secretary at 1830 St. Rt. 17 Varna, IL 61375 on any business day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
A school board candidate's petition must be filed in the same office no earlier than 8 a.m., on Tuesday January 20, 2009 and no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday January 26, 2009.
Candidate's names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received in the secretary's office.
Three seats on the seven-member board of education will be filled at the April 7, 2009 election. Candidates elected will serve four-year terms expiring in April, 2013.

Please read the following closely:
Petitions may not be legally circulated until October 28, 2008.
Petitions must be filed in the Unit Office 1830 St. Rt. 17 Varna, Il 61375 between January 20, 2009 and January 26, 2009 - no petitions will be accepted after 5 p.m. January 26, 2009.
In addition to the petitions the following must also be filed in the unit office:
A Statement of Candidacy
Nominating petitions bearing the required number of signatures and notarized signatures(s) of the petition circulator.
A receipt from the County Clerk showing that the candidate has filed a statement of economic interests on or before the last day for filing.
