midland parent’s club minutes 6/2/08

On June 2, 2008, Terri Lambrecht called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm.

Terri gave the financial report.  The balance in the checking account is $3,949.03 and $26,144.15 in the savings account.

Denise McMahan presented the slate of officer’s for the 2008-2009 school year.  The slate read as follows:

President- Terri Lambrecht

Past President- Denise McMahan

President Elect- Lisa Stewart

Vice President- Carrie Schupp

Secretary- Rachel Bickel

Treasurer- Sonia Morrison

Communications Director- Lori Blackburn or Lisa Weber

Parliamentarian/Volunteer Coordinator- Molly LeQuia

A vote was taken for Communications Director between Lori Blackburn and Lisa Weber.  Lori Blackburn won the votes.  A motion was made by Nicole Sivertsen and seconded by Marilyn Smith to accept the officers.  All were accepted.

Ms. Albers reported that a new Physical Education teacher for the elementary school would be hired by the following Friday.

A committee was formed to make back to school packets to hand out at registration.  Lori Blackburn and Nicole Sivertsen will head the committee.

School registration will be July 30 (9 am–1 pm) and July 31 (12 pm–7 pm).

Pam Barnes requested on behalf of Margie Deffenbaugh for $10.00 a week to do a cooking class in her life-skills class for a total of $364.00.  Ms. Albers asked if she had checked with Mr. Mair if there is money in the budget.  She also suggested submitting a grant to the Midland Foundation.  Pam will take the information to Margie and will follow up on these suggestions.

Terri Lambrecht adjourned the meeting at 6:19 pm.
