Midland PTO Meeting Minutes

Monday October 26, 2009

Elementary School Cafeteria

 

Officer Attendance: Lisa Stewart, Sonia Morrison, Nicole Sivertsen, Lori Blackburn

 

Principal Attendance: Julie Albers (Elementary), Peg Frey (Middle School)

 

General Assembly: Angie Riddell, Marge Watkins, Rhonda Urazoff, Summer Travers, Kyle Anderson

 

Meeting called to order at 5:20p.m. by Lisa Stewart with general introductions around the room.

Secretary’s Report: Copies of the meeting minutes from the last PTO meeting was available for review and approval.

Treasurer’s Report: Copies of the budget were available for review. Note special requests per Sonia. (See Attached)

 

TEACHER REQUESTS-Kyle Anderson, Peg Frey, Beth Rock(entered a request )

 

SCRIP-Nicole Sivertsen

GRANDPARENTS DAY

·         Feedback on the PTO sponsored event was that the programs were good. Not enough cookies in the Kindergarten classes.

FUNBLAST-Marge Watkins

·         163 students attended the Fun Blast event at the middle school. Money was handed into Mrs. Frey.

·         2 more Fun Blasts have been planned for Jan 29th and March 19th.

MARKET DAY

·         Market Day was sent home today, due this Friday due to Columbus Day, schedule is tight.

·         Marge Watkins requested additional forms for the bank.

BOOK FAIR MMS-Sonia Morrison

·         The middle school did not make the monetary goal at the book fair, therefore PTO did not have to contribute.

·         After review, we will not be able to combine the two schools per the book fair representative.

CARNIVAL-Lisa Stewart

·         February 20th is the date for the 2009-2010 Carnival.

·         Committees are going to start meeting on a regular basis from this point forward.

 PTO CHILDCARE-Tiona Kimble

·         Tabled due to not present

ROOM PARENTS-Staci Blew

·         Tabled due to not present

NFF LETTER-Lisa Stewart

·         Nothing new to report, it has not been reviewed yet.

 

NEW BUSINESS

·         Angie Riddell and Marge Watkins had questions on the upcoming Christmas bake sale. Questions on how it was run in the past, how to ask for donations, time frames, etc. 

·         PTO will send out a letter to ask parents for donations. Donations are requested  to be sent the days of the event.  They should be packaged to sell. 2 nights at the elementary and 1 night at the middle school.  Sell products before and after, close during the program.
