Midland PTO Minutes 11-24-08

Lisa Stewart called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

Secretary’s Report-approved

Treasurer’s Report

            -nonfundraiser =$2,000.00

            -Middle School chorus needed more funds for pizza than what was budgeted

            -Brigitte Bennington motioned to approve more funds

                        -Rhonda Urazoff seconded

                        -approved

Principal’s report-Julie Albers

            -Jim Aylesworth big success.  Books are available in the library

                        -picture retakes should be arriving soon

                        -group of 9 students will go shopping with Julie at The School House

                                    and be taking items to Thomas Jefferson School

                                    -raised $586.00/Peoria TV stations will be filming

                                    -3 teacher and Julie Albers will be visiting Monmouth-Roseville

                                      Schools on 12/3 to share ideas on improving literacy programs

                                    -Christmas Programs = 3^rd and 4^th 12/9 @ 6:30

                                      K thru 2^nd 12/11 @ 6:30

                        -Classroom parties will be 12/18 starting at 1:15pm

New Business

            -December 8-12 = book fair

                        -before and after Christmas concerts

                        -order forms will be given out a week before

                        -bake sale items needed and can be dropped off in the office

                                    -items should be packaged ready to sell

Old Business

            -Nicole Sivertsen received Script cards earlier than planned

                        -cards can be picked up December 1, 2008 from 3:30 to 4:30pm

                        -raised $900.00

            -Carnival

                        -will be set up like last year

                        -Executive Board met earlier and divided things out

                        -? Adding chili to the menu

                        -Grand Raffle prizes= Wii, Nintendo DS,  $100.00 IGA gift card, eye

                                    exam, and 2 $50.00 savings bonds

            -Cool Creek Nite Life

                        -discussed travel problems, but appreciated the offer for the fundraiser             

                                    -Brigitte Bennington motioned to decline offer   

                        -Nicole Sivertsen seconded= approved
