MIDLAND PTO MINUTES 9-15-08

BUDGET MEETING

Terri Lambrecht called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm.

Sonia Morrison-Treasurer:

-reviewed funds spent from last year and made the budget for this year

-Back To School Night

          -some gifts and money was not used which will be used for Carnival

          -$1,000 PTO money was budgeted but guessing around $700.00 used

-Boohoo/Yahoo Breakfast

          -$70.00 spent

-Grandparents Day

          -spent around $200.00 in years past

-School Carnival

          -budget= $5000.00

                   -spent around $3500.00 last year with a profit of $2500.00

                   -question how much was really taken in= unable to truly know

                    due to financial circumstances from last year

-Field Trips

          -$5.00 a child

-Field Day

          -pizza

-Food/Treats

          -box tops, ice cream

-Rollerskating

- $1100.00

-ISAT

          -$500.00 pizza

          -treats

-Advertising

          -$500.00 but may need more this year

-Gifts/Retirement

          -principal, Secretaries Day, retirements

-Teacher Appreciation

          -past years PTO gave each teacher $50.00 to The School House

          -teachers get $100.00 from the district for classroom supplies

          -PTO will give $25.00 to each teacher to The School House

-Office Supplies

          -paper

          -advertising

-AR incentives

          -bowling, movies

          -middle school receives no incentives

                   -school reps. need to ask PTO and it will be decided on

-PTO Convention

          -$10.00 registration

-RIF

          -PTO is contracted for 3 books for each child this year

          -$2750.00

          -will evaluate in March

-Bank Charges

          -misc. fees for accounts

-Postage

-Special Requests

          -teachers, Sun Foundation, 5^th & 6^th grade chorus

-Terri Lambrecht

          -software

          -$85.00 coming back due to faulty software

PTO needs a reserve of about $7000.00 to start of the next school year

End of the year budget is &32,000.00.

Fundraisers will be talked about at a later date.  Ideas were brought about by Denise McMahon.

A motion to accept the budget with revisions was made by Jennifer Keohler.

The motion was seconded by Denise McMahon.

The budget was approved.
