MIDLAND PTO MINUTES 9-22-08

On September 22, 2008, Terri Lambrecht called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm.

Introduction of officers and parents in attendance

Secretary’s Report

          -read and approved

Treasurer’s Report

          -read and approved

Ms. Albers

          -pictures for elementary school are October 8, 2008 not October 3^rd

          -Mrs. Kimble retired early from the Preschool due to husband’s illness

                   -Linda Feurer will substitute for 2 weeks

                   -job will be posted 9-23-08

Old Business

          -School Directory should be out the 2^nd week of October.

          -Head room parents= still in need for Ms. Morrissey’s class

          -? of how to get information to Middle school

                   -problem with notes getting home

                             -possible email to parents, morning assembly pass outs,

                              middle school liaison

          -Grandparents Day

                   -October 9^th 2pm

                   -room mothers getting volunteers to make cookies

                   -be there 1pm to help set up

                   -drop cookies off to office day of or day before

          -Garage Sale

                   -drop off at elementary gym on October 9^th from 5-7pm

                   -K-12 grade items

                   -$5.00 a bag or otherwise marked

                   -Sale is Saturday, October 11^th 8-2pm

                   -gym is the only entrance

          -Carnival

                   -February 7, 2009

-Theme=Survivor Midland

                             -Stacy Watkins motioned to approve theme

                             -Nicole Sivertsen seconded

                   -Nicole Sivertsen made a motion to have the board members

                   head 8 different committees

                             -Stacy Watkins seconded

                             -Committee Chairs are:

                                      Kitchen-Terri Lambrecht

                                      Prizes/tickets-Denise McMahan

                                      Silent Auction-Sonia Morrison

                                      Grand Raffle-Carrie Schupp

                                      Advertising/decoration-Lori Blackburn

                                      Workers-Molly Lequia

                                      Games-Rachel Bickel

                                      Tournament-Lisa Stewart

-non-fundraiser/fundraiser

          -letter writing campaign that will be sent to the Midland

           parents requesting donations instead of fundraiser

          -letter will also go out to the businesses about donations

           and funding for carnival

          -Nicole Sivertsen made a motion for someone to head committee

           to write and send out letters to parents and businesses

          -Rhonda Urazoff seconded

          -Nicole Sivertsen, Lori Blackburn, and Melissa Grandsart to co-chair

          -letters will go out by the middle of October

New Business

          -Scrip

                   -beginning of November

          -Monster Blast Volunteer Meeting

                   -Middle School library, September 24^th @ 6:30pm
