ACT Plus Writing- Test Info

Next  test date:

-Saturday, February 9^th and the regular registration deadline is January 4th. ($30.00 fee)

-Saturday, April 12th and the regular registration deadline is March 7th. ($30.00 fee)

-Saturday, June 14^th and the regular registration deadline is May 9^th ($30.00 fee)

You can reregister by phone or internet if you have already taken the ACT at a national test site (taking

the ACT test here does not qualify as a national test site)

Starting in 2005, students have the choice of taking the regular format ACT for the fee of $30.00. They may also choose to take the ACT regular format with the writing assessment for a fee of $44.50. Students are highly encouraged to take the ACT plus writing assessment because many four year colleges will probably be requiring the ACT plus writing as part of their admission process by the fall of 2006.

You may register by internet or fill out the paper registration form of the ACT if you have only taken the ACT at the school. (If you fill out the paper registration folder, you must fill out the front and back of the form, the inside of the registration folder is voluntary.)

There are new ACT prep test discs available for check out in the library for you to use on your home computer to practice. In addition, guidance has ACT Test Prep Books for checkout. There are also links to websites at the guidance website that you can refer to for more ACT practice.

Should you retake the ACT?

You should consider retaking the ACT if you were:

-ill the day of the test

-need to score one or two pts. higher to get into a program

-a min. of 27-28 ACT score is needed for most academic scholarships

-didn't get enough rest when you took the test last time

-feel like you're more prepared now for the test

Info on retaking the PSAE test 2007-2008 School year:

Students must take Day 1 and Day 2 to earn new PSAE scores.

Day 1 is taken on Saturday, October 27, 2007(only) deadline to register is Sept. 21

Late deadline is Oct 5th (student must pay $17 late fee) you must get the free test voucher from the guidance office.

Day 2 will be taken on October 30 during an in-school test session. we have to request retake candidates by September 21^st.

If you want to take the ACT only, it might be easier to take the test when you choose and pay the fee of $30.(test only) or $44.50(test with writing portion).

You cannot use the payment voucher for any other test date than October 27th and you can't reregister by phone.  You may register over the internet using the voucher number in the upper right hand corner and then sending the actual signed voucher later or you may register through the mail.  Either of these ways will work, but you must get the original signed voucher to ACT.
