Calculating Semester Grades

1. Create a new Group
   1. Open a Gradebook
   2. Select Configuration in the View Window
   3. Select Add Group
   4. Name your new group SEM1
   5. Change the Overall Weight to 0
   6. Default Value: 100
   7. Display Type: Alpha
   8. Click OK

2. Under View select Assignments
3. The calculation columns for the 1^st and 2^nd nine weeks, change the group to SEM1
4. Make sure your calculation columns for the 1^st and 2^nd nine weeks are weighted at 40
5. Add an assignment for your Semester Test
   1. Select Task
   2. Add Assignment
   3. Title = Semester Exam
   4. Heading = Semester Exam
   5. Group = SEM1
   6. Value = 100  (within your gradebook semester test grades need to be entered as % score)
   7. In the Assignment View Change the Weight for Semester Exam to 20

6. Create a calculation column for SEM1
   1. Select Task
   2. Add Calculation
   3. Title = SEM1
   4. Heading = SEM1
   5. Weight = 100
   6. Calculate on Members of = SEM1
   7. From: 08/18/06  To: 12/21/06
   8. Click OK
