The mission of the Council is to promote and facilitate 2-way communication between the community and the school district. This is a place where your voice can be heard on a district level. Not only will you learn about current and upcoming initiatives for District 7, but you will have the opportunity to ask questions and share your ideas with our superintendent, Building Principals, teachers, and other parents from District #7. Current initiatives have included the School Improvement Initiative, Testing, Technology in our Schools, and Improving Communications between Home and School.
This District Council is comprised of
representative parents, businesspersons, and community leaders who are
interested in reviewing and making recommendations on issues in the Midland
District. The
CAC
has no more then 15 members, serves as an advocate for students, and deals with
issues in the school community.
Each School has a Citizen's Advisory Committee. These committees address school
issues and make recommendations to the District Citizen's Advisory Council,
which in turn makes recommendations to the board.
CAC's
are site based.
They provide support and serve in an advisory capacity. They do not provide
programs in the school and they do not participate in fundraising.
