VISUAL ARTS II

Course Description:  This course is designed to extend the student's knowledge of the elements and principles of design.   Visual Arts II will expand students' aesthetic knowledge and enhance their artistic skills in a variety of media.  The development of personal style in artistic expression will be emphasized in this course.

Objectives:

1.  Students will continue to explore basic design concepts and techniques.

2.  Students will gain a greater grasp of the design elements & principles and begin to develop a more personal style.

3.  Students will experience a more expressive & experimental approach to standard drawing techniques.  More emphasis will be placed on the "Art of Seeing".

4.  Student knowledge and the practice of color theory and paint application will be expanded by using a greater variety of painting alternatives such as airbrush and watercolors.

5.  A more personal artistic style will be developed as students continue to create works of art using various mediums and design construction.
