Class Projects

Video Production:

Video Poem - Students are to write a poem and then record video images that work with the subject.  Videos are edited using Apple's iMovie and then the audio track of the poem is added.  Students can then add graphics such as titles and credits, add sound effects and background music if needed.  Depending on the number of students in the class, this project usually takes two weeks to complete.

Mini Drama "Dream" - Students are put into small groups, and then they are given the beginning of a short story that I have written.   Each group writes their own ending to the story.  The next step is to story board the drama, this will help in the planning and shooting of the video.  Students then tape the scenes of their drama using digital camcorders.  The clips are then imported into the computers for editing.  This project takes between 3 to 4 weeks to complete

Documentary - Students are to pick a subject that they are interested in, research the subject, and then produce a short documentary on the subject.  The documentaries are to be between 4 to 10 minutes in length.  This project takes about 2 weeks to complete.

Music Video - This project is a student favorite.  They pick a song, and then record video images that go along with the music.  Very similar to professionally produced music videos.  Some students will even use original recorded music in their videos.  This project takes about 1 week to finish.
