August 7             River Valley Falcons – Motorcycle/Car Run

·         Registration begins at 11:00 am at Midland High School with the first vehicle out at noon.  Cost is $20 per driver and $10 per passenger; dinner is included.     This run will go through 90 miles of Falcon Country culminating at RV Valley Bowl for Dinner at 6pm.  If you need more information, you may make contact through Facebook @ River Valley Falcons.  Or, you may call the High School.

August 12           “Back to School” – District Two Man Golf Scramble  

·         “Back to School” two man scramble will be at Lacon Country Club for all District Employees.  Any District employee can enter and may pair with another employee or outside friend if they wish. (See Mr. Byrd or Coach Mintus for sign-up and/or details at the High School.)

 August 13          Teachers Institute Day     

·         Tentatively, the morning will be spent at the high school and the afternoon in your respective buildings; specific details will be sent home soon.

August 16           Students First Day of School!

·         Abbreviated school day for students; 8:30 to 11:30.

·         Heat schedule will be in place from the start of school to Labor Day; (2:10 Dismissal).

August 20          Fall Athletic “Kick-Off”

·         Please join us for something new this year, Fall Athletic Kick-Off!   

·         First, after school all athletic practices will be open to the public on this day.  Parents and the public are welcome to come out and watch our athletic programs in action.

·         Second, there will be a brief athletic meeting for all parents and players in the main gym after practices; approximately 5:30.

·         Lastly, all are welcomed to culminate the day’s events at football scrimmage.  The scrimmage will start at 7:00.   You are all invited to join us in some fun and fellowship!
